Most of the foods labeled so are those that have excellent amounts of Vitamins, antioxidants. This is an area of controversy, there are many professionals form the health industry who believe that the term super foods is a marketing gimmick and the claims attributed to them are not scientifically correct.

We may not have conclusive scientific proof to all their health claims, but we have evidence of their nutritional composition. This coupled with centuries of usage ,evidence of health benefits in traditional medicine text, grandmothers advice , all add up to redeem their usage in daily life beneficial.
